Pete the Cat:I Love My White Shoes is about a cat who gets a new pair of white shoes and continues to step in different puddles, causing his shoes to change colors. but does Pete care, of course not! He lets it slid right off his back and continues doing his own thing being happy with whatever color shoes he has!
I think this story could be used with K-3rd graders. It has a wonderful message of never letting the little things get you down. The book also has a fun chant that students will be constantly singing everyday!
